"Resilience"
Following the devastation caused by the 2020 East Gippsland fires, AOA was entrusted with the task of not only rebuilding the structures of Clifton Creek Primary School but also fostering and enhancing its profound community ties cultivated over a century of service to the region. Through extensive community engagement, AOA crafted a design approach deeply rooted in environmental sustainability.
Our team at AOA meticulously developed a blueprint that prioritized passive solar principles, incorporating innovative features such as a Solar PV system, rainwater harvesting infrastructure, high-performance glazing, and various other sustainable design strategies. This concerted effort resulted in the attainment of a prestigious 5-star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, reflecting our commitment to ecological stewardship.
Employing locally sourced Bairnsdale Oche sand for the construction of rammed earth walls, alongside the establishment of a dedicated Community Centre, promises to endow Clifton Creek Primary School with a distinctive identity and function within its surroundings.
It was my privilege to spearhead a dedicated team throughout the entirety of this endeavor, overseeing its progression from the initial schematic design phase to the meticulous preparation of construction documentation. Under the mentorship of AOA’s esteemed Directors, we navigated this journey with efficiency and precision. Leveraging advanced 3D rendering software, we ensured the delivery of comprehensive and visually compelling presentations to our valued clients, facilitating seamless communication and alignment of vision.
